In our final week of Well and Festive we chatted with the lovely Laura Mohi from Wild Pilates, a Reformer Pilates & Online Studio. She shares her holiday traditions and ways she likes to move her body when she isn't in the studio.


What do you love most about this time of year?

Spending more time outside in nature, at the beach in the beautiful weather

Do you have any special traditions you look forward to around this time?

My work is quietest in January so I always head back to Hawkes Bay to spend time with my family and friends.

How do you like to move your body when you’re away from the studio?

I still find my body loves to do Pilates so I do short 20 minutes Mat Pilates at home, this is made easier with my online studio, even I need a bit of motivation. As well as nature walks or beach walks. Pilates and walking, I find is the perfect combination.

What advice would you give to people who are feeling the pressure to keep up their healthy habits through the holidays?

Only do what makes you feel good, don't put too much pressure on yourself, it's time to spend with family or friends. However if you know exercise is going to make you feel better, put you in a good mood and improve your confidence then that is the best motivator to enjoy your holidays and keep up those healthy habits as well.
